Amanda Laugesen is Director of the Australian National Dictionary Centre and a Senior Fellow at the ANU. She is the author of many books and articles in Australian and US History, including the forthcoming Taking Books to the World: American Publishers and the Cultural Cold War (University of Massachusetts Press, as well as having edited several major Australian dictionaries. She was Managing editor of the Australian National Dictionary (second edition, published by Oxford University Press) and oversees the Australian National Dictionary project.
