Dr Amanda Lee (was Sherratt) is Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University and Visiting Professor - Yangzhou University. She is also editor for International Nursing Review - an International Council of Nurses journal. She has held academic positions as Executive Dean of Business, Health and Social Care programs (GBS), Associate Dean International (Faculty of Health Sciences in the University of Hull) and Program Lead MSC nursing Nurse Practitioner (Curtin University Western Australia) . She is a qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (UK) and Nurse Practitioner (Australia). She holds registered status and qualifications in general nursing (adult), advanced practice (general - adult), neonatal advanced nursing specialist practice and midwifery (not currently practicing midwifery).
She lectures on non medical prescribing, quantitative research methodology and advanced practice.
Her interdisciplinary PHD evaluated survival in gastroesophageal cancer. She applied spatial analysis in GIS (Geographical Information System) to predict geographical areas of higher incidence, to target interventions for earlier presentation and diagnosis in gastroesophageal cancer. This methodology has also been applied to trauma care in recent research.
She has a wealth of experience in curriculum development and educational consultancy. Achievements include: Developing the first ever nurse practitioner led clinics across Australia : Co-design and creation / accreditation of 1st Dual degree Transnational Educational program for nursing in China, Acting as Expert advisor to the UK MHRA pharmacovigilance Advisory group UK and West Australian therapeutic advisory group. As an academic, she has held numerous positions as external examiner for advanced practice (Masters level) programs and led professioally regulated programs through successful accreditation status.
