Amani Eva Becker

Research Impact Fellow in Coastal Resilience, University of Liverpool

Dr Amani Becker is an Impact Fellow in Coastal Resilience in the department of Geography and Planning, School of Environmental Science, University of Liverpool and an Applied Coastal Scientist at the National Oceanography Centre, Liverpool. In 2017 she was employed by University of Liverpool to research the potential for renewable energy generation and storage in and around the River Mersey. Her PhD, at University of Stirling, was part of the EPSRC-funded Adaptation and Resilience of Coastal Energy Supply (ARCoES) project which aimed to identify challenges facing the future security of coastal energy supply in the Northwest of England as a result of a changing climate. Her research interests are centred on coastal processes, coastal resilience and energy supply and she is currently involved in projects in the UK, the Western Indian Ocean and the Caribbean.
