Dr Andrew G Jones is a lecturer of law at Coventry University with a research interest in public international law, international humanitarian law and the use of force.

He received his PhD in 2019 from the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing where his research focussed on the lawful use of force by States and the challenges facing that regime in the modern world. Prior to this, Andrew attended Bangor University in Wales, gaining a Master's degree in international law with a focus on international criminal law and human rights law, and the University of Reading where he received his undergraduate degree in law.

His most recent publication focussed on the 2017 intervention in The Gambia in response to the constitutional crisis in the country (Intervening for democracy : the threat or use of force and crisis in The Gambia, Comparative and International Law Journal of Southern Africa, Volume 51 Number 2, 2018, p. 241 - 260)
