Senior Visiting Research Fellow, Translational Medicine, University of Liverpool

Dr Andrew Hill is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Translational Medicine at Liverpool University. He originally graduated from Oxford University and then studied at St Mary's Hospital in London, before gaining his PhD at the University of Amsterdam. He specializes in research on access to medicine and the safety and efficacy of new treatments. He has papers published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Science and many others.

Dr Andrew Hill works as a consultant for the World Health Organisation in the department of HIV/AIDS, and is a member of the WHO Fair Pricing Committee. He has given advice to many countries about controlling the prices of medicines. He helps people to access generic medicines when prices of branded versions are unaffordable. He has recently helped people with Cystic Fibrosis to set up a buyers club, importing medicines from Argentina.
