Andrew teaches practical journalism skills and journalism history. He began his journalistic career with a punk fanzine at school, before 20 years of writing, sub-editing and editing on newspapers and magazines, including the Preston Other Paper, Cheshire Life and the Observer. He worked with young people in Zambia for three years, producing HIV/AIDS education publications. He is a journalism historian, researching 19th- and 20th-century provincial journalism.
