Professor of Economics, Warsaw School of Economics

I am an adjunct professor at Warsaw School of Economics, the chairman of Association of Polish Economists (TEP), the chief advisor to the board of the FOR foundation (think-tank) and a member of the supervisory board of BGŻ BNP Paribas TFI (investment fund). I finished my six-year term of a member of the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) at the National Bank of Poland (NBP) in January 2016. Previously I used to work at various other positions in Poland’s central bank, as well as in the Ministry of Finance, academia, think-tanks, corporate and financial sector. I completed a research internship at the European Central Bank and was a consultant for the World Bank. I participated in the NBP’s programmes of technical assistance to central banks from other transition economies. I received my Ph. D. in 2005. It was followed by a postdoctoral degree in economics (“habilitation”) in 2015. I completed WEMBA, an Executive MBA program organized jointly by the University of Minnesota and WSE, and was a lecturer at CEMBA, a joint Executive MBA program of the University of Quebec at Montreal and WSE. I have authored or co-authored 5 books (including one translated into English and Russian), many peer-reviewed articles and scientific papers, as well as tens of economics-themed articles published in popular press (inclusive of “Financial Times”).
