Angela McIntyre a doctoral student at the University of Pretoria and is affiliated with the UP Institute for Food, Nutrition and Wellbeing (IFNuW) and the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation. She has been a development practitioner, researcher and activist in sub-Saharan Africa since 1993, with truly multi-disciplinary experience that includes post-conflict humanitarian work, peace and security, children’s rights, environment and conservation, public health and rural development. In trying to make sense of it all, Angela has earned a BA in Anthropology (Winnipeg), a MSc in environmental management (University of London), a Master of Public Health (University of Liverpool). Her current studies focus on rural development and food democracy.
