I am a senior lecturer in Curriculum and Professional Issues for Teachers at Murdoch University.
My research interests include educational policy and curriculum change at a national and global level, with a particular focus on how these impact on teachers and the nature of teachers’ work.
Specifically:
Teacher Professional standards
Performance pay
Standardised curriculum
Teaching out of Field
Fast Track Teacher Education programs (eg Teach for All schemes)
Early career teacher attrition
Teacher resilience
Career pathways for para professionals (e.g. Teacher Assistants and Australian Indigenous Education Officers)
I am also interested in teacher unionism and the history of teachers’ work in Western Australia.
