Dr Anthony Rea is the Head of the Bureau of Meteorology’s Observing Strategy and Operations Branch. He has a PhD in meteorological remote sensing and a Masters in Public Administration. In the Bureau, Dr Rea has responsibility for strategic planning of the Bureau’s observations networks and functions, and coordinates national operations for these networks, including radar, surface observations and remote sensing. He also takes a leading role in satellite-related activities within the Bureau and chairs the World Meteorological Organisation’s Inter-Program Expert Team on Satellite Utilisation and Products.
