Arianne Shahvisi

Lecturer in Ethics, Brighton and Sussex Medical School, University of Sussex

Arianne Shahvisi is a writer, academic, and activist, based in Brighton, England. She holds a doctorate in the philosophy of physics from the University of Cambridge, and is a Lecturer in Ethics at the Brighton & Sussex Medical School (Sussex Campus), where she teaches bioethics, feminist theory, biopolitics, and the philosophy of mind. Her current research spans a diverse set of topics in applied philosophy, including: reproductive ethics, academic freedom, and social epistemology. Arianne serves as an editorial board member of Kohl: Journal for Feminist Research on Gender and the Body in the MENA Region, and is science editor for literary magazine The Offing.
