Athol Yates

Prior to joining Khalifa University, Dr. Yates was the Executive Director of the Australian Security Research Centre, a think-tank on domestic security issues. He was responsible for the Centre’s three strands of work: research projects, conferences/training and commissioned projects. He was also the Coordinator of the Research Network for a Secure Australia, an academic-industry-government research network funded by the Australian Research Council.In 2013 he was appointed a Senior Fellow in the Department of Engineering and Environment, University of Melbourne. In 2013 he was elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, in recognition of his contribution to the engineering policy in Australia and the region.
