Terrestrial Mesozoic stratigraphy. Systematics of bivalves. Integration of paleontology, stratigraphy and sedimentology in reconstructing past environmental changes, especially concerning on the formation of the Jehol Biota in western Liaoning, NE China.

Currently working on the terrestrial T-J boundary in southern China, where we found several very good sections consisting of alternated marine and nonmarine deposits with some pyroclastic intercalations. We are aiming to erect a nonmarine T-J boundary using integration of marine fossils (we have collected amounts of marine bivalves and ammonites), contents of organic carbon and radiometric dating.
