Barbara Chaparro

Professor of Psychology, Wichita State University

I am the director of the Software Usability Research Laboratory (SURL). SURL works with industry and academia to conduct software/website design and evaluation specializing in usability testing, user interface design, heuristic evaluation, eye tracking, and end user requirements gathering. In addition, we conduct research investigating all aspects of human-computer interaction (HCI), including mobile devices. My research interests include the investigation of methods to optimize interface usability, online reading, the relationship between user eye movements and usability, mobile computing user experience, and measuring user satisfaction. In particular, I am interested in what aspects of software, websites, and apps make them "usable."
