Dr Barbara Joseph is a member of the Australasian Humour Studies Network at University of Sydney. She has performed in various shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 1996 to 2008, starting out writing and performing characters for sketch shows in the late 1990s. She then wrote and performed three solo stand-up comedy shows - So I Married an Arab in 2006, 21st Century Housewife in 2007, and Barb Joseph in 3D: Divorced, Dating and Dangerous in 2008. Barbara wrote her doctoral thesis on performance practice within stand-up comedy.
