Professor of the Practice of Education, Vanderbilt University

I am a weird but particularly useful (?) combination of educational philosopher and teacher educator. I have directed programs of teacher education and been the President of the Philosophy of Education Society. I spend time every week in a partner public school and regularly work in partnership with empirical researchers, school-based educators and leaders, and other philosophers and policy makers. I live in a sweet spot between theory and practice.
