Dr. Benjamin Kagina is a Senior Researcher in vaccinology at VACFA. Benjamin has an MSc. degree in Epidemiology (from the Jomo Kenyatta University, Kenya) and a PhD in Clinical Sciences & Immunology (from the University of Cape Town, South Africa). Current priority area of research interest is evidence-informed decision-making for vaccines and immunisation. Most of Benjamin's projects have a training component that provides opportunities for postgraduate students (MPH and PhDs) to develop dissertation topics within the research projects. Benjamin is a co-convener of the annual African vaccinology course conducted by VACFA. He is involved in teaching and supervision of postgraduate students as well as in the development of the vaccinology materials for both academic and non-academic training.
