Dr Benjamin Wilkie is a historian, writer and academic. He is the author of 'Gariwerd: An Environmental History of the Grampians' (CSIRO Publishing 2020) and 'The Scots in Australia 1788-1938' (Boydell Press 2017). His current research focuses on histories of the Newer Volcanics Province of south-eastern Australia. Ben is an Associate of the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Otago and a Research Assistant at the Macquarie Business School, and in 2019 was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow. Between 2013 and 2017, he was Lecturer in Australian Studies at Deakin University.
