I have 2 PhDs (Geography from Aberystwyth, Economics from Cambridge), a Masters (Land Economy from Cambridge) and a BA (Geography from Aberystwyth).
Previously I was University Reader in Geographical Economics at Cambridge University, and was a Professor of Economics at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland.
I am co-investigator at the ESRC-funded Urban Big Data Centre which is a research centre and national data service. It promotes the use of big data and innovative research methods to improve social, economic and environmental well-being in cities.
