Bernard Wessels obtained his BA (Humanities) (cum laude), BA (Hons) (Afrikaans and Dutch) (cum laude) and his LLB (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch. He completed his articles of clerkship at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc in 2010 and was admitted as an attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa in Cape Town in 2010. In 2012 he joined the Law Faculty as a lecturer. He currently teaches Private Law 373 (law of delict). His research focus is the law of delict with a special interest in the relationship between the law of delict and legislation as well as legal history. In 2014 he obtained his BCL degree (first) from the University of Oxford (University College).
