Senior University Teacher in Teacher Learning, University of Glasgow

Beth Dickson is a senior university teacher in the School of Education, University of Glasgow. During her period as Associate Dean Initial Teacher Education and Deputy Head of School (2008-2010), she led the team which developed the PGDE into an M-level qualification, the first Scottish Masters-level route into teaching. She then led the team which reformed the curriculum of the 4-year programme for initial teacher education which may also lead to a Master qualification. She has been involved in radical moves to improve the quality of teaching placements for student teachers. Her scholarly interests are in professional learning for teachers.
