My main research specialisms relate to cultural labour and representations of gender, sex, social class, poverty and place on film and television.
I am also engaged in research on activism, performance, emotion and politics.
I am currently working on two books - a co-authored book on television creator and screenwriter 'Sally Wainwright' (M.U.P) with Professor Kristyn Gorton, and a monograph on 'Class and Poverty on Popular Television: A Case for Change' for Edinburgh University Press.
