Price variation within markets; price transparency; health insurance benefit design.

Current Research

I am interested in price dispersion, particularly within markets, and whether that dispersion can be leveraged to lower health services costs for some individuals, or lower overall spending levels. I am also interested in the effects of price transparency on service prices and consumer information levels.

I have recently worked on a white paper that analyzed the marriage of price transparency initiatives with incentives through innovative insurance benefit designs. I have also done recent research on value-based insurance design.
