Senior Lecturer in Sociology, University of South Australia

Brad West is an Associate Professor of sociology at the University of South Australia. His research is principally on national identity and how historical interpretation is altered by forms of commemoration. He is a Faculty Fellow at the Yale Center for Cultural Sociology, founding co-chair of the Cultural Sociology thematic group in The Australian Sociological Association and a 2017 Fellow of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. Amongst other administrative roles he is on the Board of the International Sociological Association's Research Committee in Sociological Theory and serves on the advisory editorial board of The American Journal of Cultural Sociology.
