Bruce Grant-Braham

Senior Lecturer, Bournemouth University

Having started in commercial business I have spent most of my life working either in or in association with the public sector. My core business interest has been all aspects of the hospitality, retail and motorsport industries, where my commercial background was based, and more recently that has transferred to my academic and industry relationships. Over the years I have had a place on the boards of several national and many local tourism and hospitality and health care organisations.

Even though I have been involved with politics I am an individual who has an open mind and enjoy the continued progress with technology, especially the Internet, in both commercial and domestic life. Indeed my liking for technology led to my hobby of motor sport in which I have been involved since the late 1960s. This fed into my research interests where for my PhD study I have been examining the difference in sponsorship approaches between F1 and MotoGP. This is an area of interest which I hope to expand.

I am a national Council member of the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) as well as a Director of the Thruxton motor racing circuit - the fastest in the UK
