Catherine’s research involves evaluating reforms made to a particular Italian anti-mafia law. She is also interested in the jurisdictional problems which exist for efforts to tackle transnational organised crime, and in particular, the reasons for and consequences of Australia’s lack of an equivalent to article 416-bis of Italy’s Penal Code, which criminalises membership of mafia type associations.
