Cecilia Gontijo Leal

Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Ecology, Universidade de São Paulo (USP)

I am a freshwater ecologist interested in biodiversity conservation in tropical ecosystems. Investigating how land use changes affect stream fauna in human-modified Amazonian landscapes is my main research focus. I also have interest in understanding how science can be used to inform management and conservation strategies of freshwater ecosystems.

Currently, I am a post-doctoral fellow at the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi in Pará state, Brazil.
