Associate Director, J.D. MacLean Centre for Tropical Diseases, Division of Infectious Diseases, McGill University

I am an Infectious Diseases physician and a Medical Microbiologist. My research is focused on informing policy on diagnostics for severe and emerging infectious diseases in low-resource and remote settings. This is done via the development or field validation of (i) new diagnostic tools, (ii) novel approaches to laboratory infrastructure, and (iii) innovations in clinical practice guidelines. In addition, a core activity of our group involves optimizing the use of current diagnostic laboratory approaches and newer innovations in clinical bacteriology for low-resource settings, aiming to contain the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
