Charles Devellennes

Senior Lecturer in Political and Social Thought, University of Kent

My work is at the interplay of the history of political thought and contemporary political theory. I am particularly interested in the development of atheism in the eighteenth century, as well contemporary issues around toleration and secularism. I also work on the significance of social movements on our notions of political legitimacy, notably on the case of the gilets jaunes (yellow vests) in France.
