Researcher and Teaching Assistant, Sociology Department, Chinese University of Hong Kong

Charles Fung is currently a teaching assistant of the Department of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Before joining CUHK, he worked as a research assistant at The Academy for Hong Kong Studies (EduHK) after his graduation from the Department of Government and Public Administration at CUHK.

His research interests include international history and politics, state formation and transformation, and colonialism and its legacies. He is currently researching on the anti-extradition bill movement. His most recent (co-authored) research article is about the geopolitical origin of Hong Kong’s unique international status published in Asian Education and Development Studies.
