Charles King

Charles King has worked full-time as a freelance journalist and writer for many years before taking up an academic post, in 2013, as a journalism lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He was also media relations manager for MultiChoice Africa and an account director at Ogilvy PR (Jhb), the editor of two magazines, and published and edited his own newspaper. Charles has a honours degree in English Literature and an MA in Journalism & Media Studies, both from Wits University. He currently teaches news writing, online media, advanced and specialist reporting. He is especially interested in teaching others how to report climate change, Africa, and homophobia.
