Charlotte Galpin

Lecturer in German and European Politics, University of Birmingham

I am a Lecturer in German and European Politics at the University of Birmingham and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Copenhagen. My research focuses on European identities and Euroscepticism in the European public sphere. I focus particularly on Germany and more recently the UK, having launched a new project this year on Brexit and EU citizenship. My book, 'The Euro Crisis and European Identities: Political and Media Discourse in Germany, Poland and Ireland', has recently been published with Palgrave Macmillan. I have also published in peer-reviewed journals such as German Politics and Society and the British Journal of Politics and International Relations.

Previously, I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Bath, and was a visiting researcher at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at the Free University Berlin, and the Willy Brandt Center for German and European Studies at the University of Wrocław, Poland.

I have a PhD in Political Science and International Studies and an MA in European Integration from the University of Birmingham, and a BA in French and German Studies from the University of Warwick.
