Professor of Cross-Disciplinary Microbiology, Queen's University Belfast

Chris Allen is a Professor of Cross-Disciplinary Microbiology at the Institute of Global Food Security and
School of Biological Sciences, Queen's University Belfast.

He is especially interested in the application of metagenomics to diverse fields, including Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Ecology and even Archaeology.

He has published over 120 peer reviewed scientific papers in his 25+ years academic career.

The environment is, undoubtedly, the greatest global challenge of our generation. He is presently seeking to address the shortfall in critical information needed that will allow us to better understand the global changes that are occurring right now.
