Professor in Educational Psychology, University of York

Chris Kyriacou is Professor in Educational Psychology at the Universty of York. His first degree was in psychology, after which he completed a PGCE, and taught mathematics in a London comprehensive school. He then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge on the topic of teacher stress. His teaching focuses on psychological aspects of teaching and learning in schools.

He is particularly interested in researching aspects of effective teaching, the experience of being a teacher, pupil learning and pupil motivation. He also researches bullying and cyberbullying.

He is a member of the British Educational Research Association, the British Psychological Society, and the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction.
