A Fellow of the both the Higher Education Academy FHEA and the Institute of Managers and Leaders FIML, Dr. Christiaan WILLEMS has an extensive and uniquely diverse career in the performing arts, music, television, tertiary education, research, and corporate communication. His performance work has been seen 'from the outback to the Opera House' and his award-winning television work has been broadcast internationally.
Dr Willems's presentation as a Higher Education Leader at the international EduTECH Congress 2016 on the topic: ‘Keeping It Human - Change & Challenge in Online Learning & Teaching’ is indicative of his international standing in higher education leadership.
As a former Teaching Transformation Fellow at QUT, a researcher in online learning & teaching; a Lecturer in Design and Performance for Stage & Screen, and a specialist in non-verbal communication, Christiaan has applied his unique suite of creative industries skills and qualifications simultaneously to the arts; tertiary education, and corporate contexts.
Christiaan is a former President of the Queensland Arts Council and Deputy Chair of Regional Arts Australia (RAA), and is currently Director of Higher Education at the Performing Arts Conservatory.
