I am a clinician, teacher and researcher. I work at The George Institute for Global Health, and am Professor of Respiratory Medicine at UNSW, Sydney.

I practice as a Senior Staff Specialist in Thoracic Medicine at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, and am a Clinical Professor at the University of Sydney.

My research focus is in clinical trials in airways disease, and I oversee trials in asthma and COPD in Australia and Asia.

I currently chair the Board of Lung Foundation Australia and am a past president of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.

My AM was awarded in recognition of service to respiratory medicine as a physician, administrator, and educator.

I am an advocate for better care for patients with lung disease, and greater community awareness of the prevalence and possibilities for achieving better outcomes in lung disease.
