Christopher P. Szabo

Dr. Christopher Szabo is currently a Professor & Chair, Academic Head, and Head of Clinical Psychiatry in the Division of Psychiatry at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is also a Chief Specialist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. Dr. Szabo has extensive clinical experience in the management of eating disordered patients and most recently published a book entitled “Eating Disorders”. This important book discusses both both clinical and research work in this area of psychiatry, with specific relevance to Africa. Dr. Szabo is also currently the Editor-in-Chief of the African Journal of Psychiatry and is a member of the World Psychiatric Association Operational Committee on Publications.
