Teaching Practice Coordinator, Cape Peninsula University of Technology

Dr Conrad Potberg coordinates teaching practice at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology's Wellington campus. He joined the Faculty of Education at CPUT in 2011. He lectures Research Methods on the Education Management Honours programme; Culture and Society on the ACE course; and Mathematics on the NPDE programme. Conrad Potberg began his teacher training at Hewat College of Education. He obtained the M.Ed and the D.Ed at CPUT. Area of research interest is two-fold: Firstly, research in school reform and specifically school effectiveness. Under school reform he is concerned about school improvement as well as accountability measures within schools. The second area of research interest is in initial teacher education. Within this realm of research he focuses on teaching practice or work integrated learning. This focus would include the issue of mentoring and coaching of pre-service teachers.
