Professor Craig Baillie is an Agricultural Engineer with 23 years’ experience in Agricultural Research, Development and Extension (R, D &E). Craig is currently the Director of the National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture (NCEA) based at the University of Southern Queensland. Craig’s role within the NCEA includes research management, business development (new projects) and the commercialisation / adoption of engineering technologies developed by the Centre. Within the NCEA, Craig is actively involved in projects relating to on farm energy use, precision agriculture and irrigation. Prior to commencing with the NCEA, Craig has had a number of roles including farming systems research and technical support to large corporate farming operations which involved the development and implementation of new infrastructure, machinery, technologies and innovative farming strategies.
