Associate Professor of Italian Studies and Film, The Ohio State University

I publish and teach on Italian film and television, and have a major research focus in mafia studies. I have written two single-authored books on Italian mafia television and cinema, and edited a collection of over seventy essays on Italian and American mafia movies and television. I am fascinated with representations of alluring criminals, especially on the question of why viewers are so drawn to criminal antiheroes, and invite them into their homes regularly on small screens, but would not request their presence at their dinner tables.
