Professor and Director of Research Monash Rural Health, Monash University

Darryl has been the Director of Research at Monash Rural Health since May 2018 and a psychologist with over thirty years of clinical and research experience. His teaching has been in the areas of research methodology and statistics and he has successfully supervised 39 honours, Masters and/or Phd students to completion. He currently supervise 9 Phd students. Since 1999 he has implemented on time and on budget over 50 research grants totalling over $15 million, published 14 reports for government and other agencies, made over 80 conference presentations and key note addresses, written five book chapters, edited the Journal Rural Society and have over 100 peer reviewed journal publications. His research aims to (a) reduce the cycle of mental illness in families (b) measures and reduce the he impact of events on stress, anxiety and depression and (c) His mental health research has significantly impacted on government policy and programs.
