Dave Marcotte is Professor of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is currently engaged in research on the following topics; the effect of mental illness and treatment on labor market and health outcomes; the impact of post-secondary education and learning on employment and earnings, and; the role of resources on student performance in primary and secondary education.

Marcotte received a BA in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina in 1986, an MA in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota in 1989, and his PhD in Public Policy from the University of Maryland in 1994. Marcotte is Affiliate Research Fellow at the Community College Research Center, Columbia University, and has recently been the American Education Research Association Fellow at the National Center for Education Statistics.
