David R. Smith

My research and teaching activity concerns education and religion. I have been involved in a three year transnational European Erasmus Plus funded exploration of Religious Education and Diversity (READY) - a project which has included school and faith community visits in Austria, England, Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland, along with discussion about the various Education systems.

I am a graduate of the University of Glasgow, UK; Princeton Theological Seminary, USA; and the University of Durham, UK, from where I graduated with a PhD (Religion); and from the University of Edinburgh, UK (Education). I am a qualified Secondary RE teacher and have taught in Scottish schools.

I am Head of Moray House School of Education and Sport at the University of Edinburgh.
