Davide Pellegrino

Research technician, Università di Torino

I hold a PhD in Political Science and since 2016 I have been working for Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning – which is a Polytechnic of Turin and University of Turin joint structure – on a research project focusing on urban electoral geography and spatial effects on voting behaviour. I am also Research Fellow at the ICC (Istituto Carlo Cattaneo) on a research project focusing on Voting Behavior in urban peripheries. My main research interests focus on Comparative Politics; Electoral Geography and Electoral Behavior.
Recently, I have published on electoral change in Italian left-leaning regions (the so-called Red Belt) and in Turin’s post-industrial peripheries. On these issues, my most recent work in Italian is the book chapter “Dal congelamento al cambiamento della geografia elettorale in Emilia-Romagna” in “Allerta rossa per l’onda verde Politica, economia e società in Emilia-Romagna alla vigilia del voto regionale (Red Alert. Salvini Lega’s electoral wave is coming”, edited by Marco Valbruzzi, pp.57-73: available online: http://www.cattaneo.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Allerta-rossa-per-londa-verde_1512_def.pdf . I have just co-written with Bruno Bracalente and Antonio Forcina a long-term analysis of Italian Red Belt regions, the results of this study will soon be published in English.
