Derek Armitage is Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability, University Waterloo, where he co-leads the Environmental Change and Governance Group. His research focuses on the human dimensions of biodiversity conservation, environmental change (local to global), and collaborative forms of environmental governance, with a particular emphasis on coastal and marine contexts in Canada, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean.
