Lecturer in Broadcast Literacy, Queen's University Belfast

Having gained my undergraduate degree in 1994, I worked in a variety of roles before returning to take my MA in 2005-6 and continuing on to the PhD. The subject of the doctoral thesis was the origins of British television science fiction, covering the period of the BBC monopoly from 1936 to 1955, and examining the role of taste and the understanding of the audience in relation to genre within that context.
