Dian Tjondronegoro

Professor of IT, Southern Cross University

Dian Tjondronegoro received a Ph.D. in computer science (multimedia analysis) from Deakin University, Australia in 2005. He is currently a Full Professor and the IT Discipline Leader in School of Business and Tourism, Southern Cross University. He has published 130 peer-reviewed papers in top journals and conference proceedings. He is an associate editor of IEEE Access (multidisciplinary, applications-oriented, all-electronic archival journal with IF:3.24). He is a Senior Member of IEEE and ACS and Member of ACM. He has supervised 15 PhD students as principal supervisors. He received Bachelor of IT with first class honours (information systems major) from QUT, Australia in 2002

His research spectrum is best described as the intersection between: Intelligent Systems: applied machine learning and data mining; Multimedia Data Analysis: analysis of video, image, text and social media; Mobile Information Systems: mobile app and web services; and User-centred Design, Experience Evaluation and modelling: gamification, analysis of quality-of-experience and wellness promotion.
