I am interested in Personality and Wellbeing: particularly how personality influences both ends of the spectrum of psychological wellbeing. This includes psychological dysfunction such as clinical depression, and post-traumatic stress to more positive outcomes such as positive affect and post-traumatic growth. Some of my work was conducted with victims of domestic violence and findings have led to a more experimental approach within laboratory settings. My research interests are interdisciplinary and overlap with decision making, personality and individual differences, positive psychology including leadership and self efficacy, clinical psychology, and counselling psychology with the central focus on the role of the authentic personality. I am also interested in research on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning and Transformative Learning.

My teaching ranges from foundation year to third year of degree level. I also supervise Master students and second supervise PhD students in the area of Positive Psychology and Counselling research. I also oversee Distance Learning and am an External Examiner for Warwick University.
