Douglas Guilfoyle

Dr Douglas Guilfoyle is an international lawyer.

Dr Guilfoyle holds a PhD in public international law from the University of Cambridge.

He has published widely on issues of the law of the sea and international criminal law, in particular on Somali piracy and high seas law enforcement.

He is the author of Shipping Interdiction and the Law of the Sea (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and is the editor of Modern Piracy (Edward Elgar, 2013). He has consulted to the UN-sponsored Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia.
