Elizabeth Adamson

Elizabeth Adamson (MSc in Policy Studies from the University of Edinburgh; BAH (History) from Queen's University, Canada) is a Research Associate at the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC). Her research interests cross broad comparative care and family policy including: early childhood education and care (ECEC), the social and political economy of formal and informal care, and gender, migration and care. She has also been involved in projects on disadvantaged children and young people, young carers, comparative family taxes and benefits, and child poverty in the Pacific Islands. She is currently working on the ARC Linkage project, Material Deprivation and Social Exclusion among Young Australians: A Child-Focused Approach, led by Professor Peter Saunders; and Demography and Policy in Oceania, looking at care and migration, led by Professor Deborah Brennan.

Elizabeth completed her PhD in 2015, which examined funding and policy approaches to in-home child care in Australia, the UK and Canada, as part of the ARC Linkage project, Families at the Centre. She was supervised by Professors Deborah Brennan and Fiona Williams.
